The Rapidly Emerging Mobile
Internet- Opportunities and Implications – Sanju
K. Basal, Vice Chairman of the Board, Executive Vice President,
COO and Secretary, MicroStrategy
The mobile internet, like the desktop internet before it, is a
disruptive technology that is creating once-in-generation new opportunities
for companies that embrace it and leaving behind companies that
don’t understand its potential. The mobile internet is dramatically
lowering the impedance to information, allowing business people
and consumers 24x7 access to the information they desire. In parallel,
powerful smartphones that integrate sensor technologies such as
GPS, cameras, voice activation, and multi-touch screens are making
it easier to quickly and precisely query vast volumes of data. In
this keynote talk, Sanju Bansal will discuss the drivers for the
mobile intelligence revolution, the business opportunities it creates
and the stresses it will place on the information delivery infrastructure
within organizations. |

Panel Discussion:
Predictive Analytics throughout the Enterprise
Moderator: Claudia
Imhoff, Ph.D., President, Intelligent Solutions, Inc. and Founder
of the Boulder BI Brain Trust (BBBT)
Panelists: BBBT members Dr. Richard
D. Hackathorn, President, Bolder Technology, Inc.; Neil
Raden, Founder, Hired Brains; and Shawn
Rogers, President, Analytic Response
“Predictive analytics” has become a popular buzz word
in the industry, but what does it really mean? Is it possible for
organizations to accurately predict future sales, merchandising
needs, product malfunctions or campaign results to the extent that
they can alter strategic business decisions enough to truly impact
the bottom line? In this panel discussion, Claudia will ask thought-provoking
questions pertaining to predictive analytics to thought-leading
members of the Boulder BI Brain Trust. By the end of the session,
the audience should have a better understanding of why enterprises
are continuing to increase their analytic requirements as part of
the ongoing quest toward predictive analytics. |
Expanded
Capacity, Improved Performance & More: Netezza Performance Software
Release 6.0 Under the Hood – Clark Warner, Director of
Software Product Management, Netezza

The Netezza
Data Factory: Re-Inventing Data Warehousing – Ted
Westerheide, Chief Architect, Aginity LLC
The availability of massive processing power from Netezza, the
explosion of data, and the increased need for companies to compete
on analytics has made the data warehouse central to every market
leading company’s strategy. To make this equation work, Aginity
and Netezza have turned the old store-and-forward data warehousing
model into a process based factory. The result: the Netezza Data
Factory, which allows companies to process vast amounts of formerly
disparate data into bankable insight.
This session will cover the major principles and components of
the Netezza Data Factory reference architecture, then show examples
of customer implementations, including an Operational Data Factory,
Analytic Data Factory and Information Service Data Factory. |

Netezza
in the Enterprise: Composite Information Server for Netezza and
Netezza Migrator – Jeff Feinsmith, Director Strategic Partner
Enablement, Netezza; David Besemer,
CTO, Composite Software; Jim
Mlodgenski, Chief Architect, EnterpriseDB
Two situations are becoming increasingly common for Netezza customers:
they are deploying multiple Netezza appliances and many of these
appliances shoulder the load of business intelligence applications
previously running on Oracle. Netezza is creating Federated Data
Services, middleware allowing any application to query data managed
within multiple TwinFin appliances. Federated Data Services will
create a single virtual database that unifies data physically residing
on multiple different appliances. Netezza’s Oracle Compatibility
Layer will protect the investment organizations have made developing,
maintaining and using custom Oracle business intelligence applications.
Customers can continue using these applications but can have them
access data managed within TwinFin. Netezza’s Oracle Compatibility
Layer will provide Netezza customers the discretion to migrate their
applications to run natively on TwinFin at the time of their choosing;
they are not forced to convert all their legacy Oracle code to start
reaping the benefits of Netezza’s better performance and lower cost
of ownership. |

Customer Implementations
of Unified Information Access featuring IntraLinks - Chris
Ford, Director of Product Management, IntraLinks; Sid Probstein,
CTO, Attivio
On-demand insight is critical to the success of every business,
but the information that decisions and processes depend on is created
and stored in incompatible formats – data warehouses, spreadsheets,
documents, emails, SharePoint, blogs, and more. Unified information
access overcomes the obstacles to comprehensive intelligence by
integrating search, business intelligence and process automation
capabilities to provide insight – not just data.
Join IntraLinks CTO John Landy and Attivio CTO Sid Probstein to
learn about the advantages gained by innovative companies like IntraLinks,
the leading provider of critical information exchange solutions,
AMD, Deutsche Telekom’s FriendScout 24, and some of the world’s
leading financial firms and intelligence agencies that have deployed
unified information management solutions based on Attivio’s
Active Intelligence Engine™ (AIE).

Unified Information
Management – Clark Warner, Director of Software Product
Management, Netezza and Sid Probstein, CTO, Attivio
Current technologies treat structured, semi-structured and unstructured
data independently, managing different data types in silos where
their full value is unrealized and unrealizable. Netezza is investigating
unified information access: structured and unstructured information
managed within the same appliance and available for query and analysis
from the same interface. In this session, Netezza will propose its
architecture for a unified information management appliance, review
its capabilities and invite attendees to outline their organizations’
potential use cases and, if possible, provide estimates of data
volumes and query types. |

Social Network Analysis: Killer
Application for In-Database Analytics – James
Kobielus, Senior Analyst, Forrester Research, Inc.
Social networks such as Twitter and Facebook are a potential goldmine
of insights on what is truly going through customers’ minds.
Every company wants to know whether, how, how often, and by whom
they’re being mentioned across the billowing new cloud of
social media. Just as important, every company wants to influence
those discussions in their favor, target new business, and harvest
maximum revenue potential. In this session, Forrester analyst James
Kobielus will identify fruitful applications of social network analysis
in customer service, sales, marketing, and brand management. He
will present a roadmap for enterprises to leverage their in-database
analytics initiatives and leverage high-performance data warehousing
(DW) appliances in order to analyze shifting patterns of customer
sentiment, influence, and propensity. Leveraging Forrester’s
ongoing research in advanced analytics and customer relationship
management, Kobielus will discuss industry trends, commercial modeling
tools, and emerging best practices in social network analysis, which
represents a game-changing new discipline in predictive analytics. |
