The First Annual Enzee Awards Recognize Notable Achievements of Netezza Customers

A variety of customers and partners were nominated based on their innovation, performance improvements, time to value, vision and other criteria across seven different categories.

Mr. Baum recognized the winners and presented each award during the gala reception at Netezza’s annual user conference in Boston, Enzee Universe.
Winners of the 2010 Enzee Awards include:

  • Advanced Analytics: MediaMath, a key player in the transformation taking place in digital advertising, uses Netezza-powered machine learning techniques to make real-time decisions that optimize display advertising campaigns for relevance and profitability. The company was an early adopter of the i-Class™ technology for advanced analytics.

  • Visionary: Demand Media, a leading content and social media company, has succeeded in making publishing profitable again thanks to a comprehensive data-centric view of how and what people search for and a process that results in creating content that fulfills predetermined consumer needs.

  • High Impact Application: Safeway, a leading food and drug retailer, was recognized for its success rolling out a sophisticated marketing campaign leveraging behavioral segmentation and loyalty analytics that allow the company to adjust the campaign in near real time for optimal results.

  • Rapid Deployment: The Carphone Warehouse and Edge Associates, Europe's largest independent mobile phone retailer and their UK Netezza SI partner, were awarded for their success bringing multiple applications into production with great speed and efficiency over the past year, particularly within The Carphone Warehouse’s retail division.

  • Short Time to Value: Japan Medical Data Center, a leading data factory that classifies, analyzes and accumulates medical data for health insurance consumers, providers and pharmaceutical manufacturers, was recognized for its success deploying Netezza solutions, developing and launching an analytic service offering to pharmaceutical customers within two months.

  • Query Performance: Estee Lauder, one of the world's leading manufacturers and marketers of quality skin care, makeup, fragrance and hair care products, won this award for its success deploying Netezza appliances and realizing great gains in query performance.

  • Social Media Maven: David Birmingham, Brightlight Consulting, was awarded for his long-term, ongoing activity through social media channels such as the Enzee Community site. Brightlight Consulting has been instrumental in helping Netezza customers quickly and successfully deploy their analytic platforms over the years, and Mr. Birmingham has been influential in keeping them successful through his voice in social media.
