NETEZZA LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE COMMUNITY SITE TO SUPPORT ACTIVE AND GROWING MEMBERSHIP
Data Warehouse Appliance Leader Makes it Cool to be an “enzee”
TDWI World Conference, Chicago, Ill. — May 13, 2008 — Netezza Corporation (NYSE Arca: NZ), today launched an innovative new online Community to make it easier for its members to connect to share ideas and express opinions. Known as “enzees,” Community members include over one thousand Netezza customers, partners, developers, prospective customers, industry analysts and other constituents worldwide.
“Since the very beginning, Netezza has had active, supportive and visionary customers and partners who not only believe in our company and product but who have very clear ideas and opinions on the future of business intelligence, data warehousing and data warehouse appliances,” said Jit Saxena, chairman & CEO, Netezza Corporation. “With the launch of this new site, our Community now has a place where they can share their ideas and enthusiasm and advance the cause of analytics.”
“I’ve been a customer and member of the Netezza community for about two years, and have had many good interactions with other members through forums and gatherings,” said Shawn Fox, application architect, Michaels Stores. “This new Community site will make it even easier for me to connect with members who have similar interests, and I like the way Netezza is encouraging the Community to grow and thrive independent of their involvement.”
Created to provide a collaborative area for lively and informative conversation within the fast-growing, active and involved Netezza Community, the new site will include discussion forums, blogs, wikis, like-profile matching and other online tools that support a whole host of events ranging from more formal User Conferences and User Forums in the U.S., the U.K. and Japan to informal local gatherings and networking events in a host of cities worldwide. The site has been designed to go beyond the typical Community site to encourage and promote humor, controversial discussion, outside-the-box thinking and the overall distinctive enthusiasm of Netezza’s Community members.
“As an active member of the early Netezza Community, I’m really looking forward to exploring the features and social networking benefits offered with the new Community site,” said Leon Dailey, database engineer, Nationwide. “I’ll be interested to see what other ‘enzees’ are doing with their Netezzas and to get a chance to interact with people who have similar day-to-day experiences as me.”
Netezza will be exhibiting at the TDWI Conference in Chicago May 13-14, with a kiosk at the booth so show attendees can sign up to join the Community. For those not attending the show but who would like to join the Netezza Community, please go to www.netezzacommunity.com.
