NETEZZA COMMUNITY GATHERS IN RECORD NUMBERS AT INTERNATIONAL USER CONFERENCE

More than 500 Attendees Share Success Stories and Preview a New Generation of Analytics Built on the Netezza Appliance Platform

Framingham, Mass. — October 10, 2007 — Netezza Corporation (NYSE Arca: NZ), the global leader in analytic appliances, today announced record attendance for its third annual international User Conference. Held in Boston at the end of September, the Conference hosted more than 500 attendees who gathered to share real-world Netezza experiences and innovative applications of the Netezza appliance.

Netezza also unveiled a bold new corporate vision extending its appliance performance, simplicity and affordability to a broad range of complex data warehouse and analytic challenges throughout the extended enterprise. The growth of the User Conference attendee base, which spanned more than 15 industries across 13 countries, underscores the momentum of the Netezza community and rounds out a year of milestones for the Company, including a recent initial public offering.

As part of its corporate vision, Netezza launched the Netezza Developer Network (NDN), a community of innovators who are creating a new generation of ground-breaking, non-SQL, advanced analytics that leverage Netezza’s high-performance, streaming analytic™ appliance architecture. NDN participants receive a development “toolbox,” containing four of Netezza’s innovative Snippet Processing Units (SPUs), and a software development kit.

At the Conference, nearly a dozen organizations across several industries were awarded one of these “SPUBoxes” based on their innovative proposals for development of advanced analytics. Recipients include: Acuma Solutions, DataVision LLC, Fair Isaac, IMS Health, Sandia National Laboratories, SciDAC Outreach Center and several government agencies worldwide, including the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Canadian Federal Government. (To learn more about the Netezza Developer Network, or to become a member, please visit www.netezza.com/ndn).

The Conference also served as a networking opportunity for community members to share best practices and ideas on how to leverage real-time analytics. In a survey conducted during the event, respondents consistently ranked performance and the ability to make analytic-driven decisions as the top challenges that real-time analytics can address within an organization. Respondents also overwhelmingly stated that decision makers want information “as real-time as they can get it,” more frequently than even daily or hourly. Additionally, in response to an open-ended question asking, “How do analytics help you better compete as a business,” participants commented:

“It’s thrilling to see the growing Netezza community so engaged and eager to share successes,” said Ellen Rubin, vice president of marketing at Netezza. “Our customers and partners clearly believe in the power of analytics to transform their businesses and see Netezza’s innovation as a platform for their success.”
