CORPORATE EXPRESS US CHOOSES NETEZZA DATA WAREHOUSE APPLIANCE TO POWER NEW ONLINE SERVICE FOR MORE THAN 10,000 USERS

Leading Global Office Supply Provider Selects Netezza for Performance and High User Concurrency

Framingham, Mass. — July 31, 2007 — Netezza Corporation (NYSE Arca: NZ), a leading provider of data warehouse appliances, today announced that Corporate Express US (NYSE: CXP), part of the Dutch-based Corporate Express NV and a supplier of essential office and computer products and services, has chosen the Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) data warehouse appliance to drive its new online reporting service. The service will allow more than 10,000 Corporate Express customers to quickly and simply run reports and analyze data related to their office supply purchases.

Designed to provide access to existing and new reports to Corporate Express customers via the Web, the online service will allow users to view procurement data using at-a-glance dashboards, standard reports and by drilling down to transaction-level data for more detailed investigation. While developing the solution, Corporate Express selected Netezza for its high performance and ability to handle mixed workloads.

“We set out to develop an online service that would enable our customers to have simple and intuitive access to the intelligence related to their office supply purchases,” said Matt Schwartz, director of Business Analysis for Corporate Express US. “And after evaluating numerous data warehouse solutions, including Teradata, we chose Netezza for this essential customer-focused initiative due to Netezza’s ability to power our needs for rapid response and performance when thousands of users could be accessing the service.”

“More and more companies around the globe are developing online services that enable their customers to harness the power of their data,” said Jit Saxena, CEO and co-founder of Netezza. “Solutions like Netezza help drive these initiatives, making it simple and efficient for both businesses and its customers to utilize all of the intelligence at their disposal.”

The Netezza Performance Server system is a market-leading data warehouse appliance built specifically to analyze terabytes of detailed data 10 to 100 times faster than existing data warehouse options. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query. This allows the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity for customers like Corporate Express.
