Framingham, Mass. and Bracknell, Berkshire — 18 June, 2007 — Netezza Corporation, a leading provider of data warehouse appliances, today announced that FloraHolland has selected the Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) system to power its Business Intelligence (BI) efforts - as well as an innovative project to track valuable flower trolleys using RFID (radio frequency identification). The world’s largest trader of plants, flowers and horticultural products is replacing its SQL Server system to address the tuning and performance issues it faced under a rapidly growing volume of logistical and transactional data and number of users.

Supplied by the Company’s BI services partner and systems integrator, Inergy, FloraHolland’s two new NPS systems have already completed proof of concept testing against five years of historical data – over 500 million records. The Netezza appliances returned the Company’s queries on average around 30 times faster than its existing system and 200 times faster on some queries.

FloraHolland estimates a 120,000 Euro savings each year from the recovery of lost flower trolleys using RFID technology to track and trace them. Worth around 600 Euros each, they are otherwise easily misplaced as they move around the world.
