Framingham, Mass. — November 13, 2006 — Netezza, the global data warehouse appliance market leader, today announced that technology innovator and business leader Justin Lindsey has joined the Company as chief technology officer. Lindsey will dedicate his creative energy and experience with disruptive technologies to defining new areas of application for the unique characteristics of Netezza’s data warehouse appliance technology.

Lindsey will report directly to Netezza President and COO Jim Baum and lead a dedicated team of technology architects charged with designing and implementing new, innovative technologies that further revolutionize the data warehouse industry. Prior to joining Netezza, Lindsey served as deputy CIO and CTO at the United States Department of Justice where he guided the Department’s technology research and utilization of emerging technologies in support of the DOJ’s mission. Prior to the DOJ, Justin was the CTO for the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he helped shape the technology infrastructure for the FBI’s core mission systems.

Lindsey’s experience in the private sector includes his role as founder, chief solutionist and director of the Hewlett-Packard Advanced Solutions Lab (ASL), created with the sole purpose of delivering solutions that revolutionize markets, industries and the world.

Prior to Hewlett-Packard, Lindsey founded LavaStorm, Inc., an Internet systems engineering firm specializing in designing, building and delivering complex systems for category-leader clients. Under his guidance as founder and chief solutions officer, LavaStorm grew to more than 180 employees with offices in Boston and San Jose.

Lindsey’s accomplishments at LavaStorm include the first real-time SEC Edgar filings system for Wall Street, the largest volume website of the time at Monster.com and a massive Internet gaming site that handled millions of concurrent users.
