NETEZZA EXTENDS EUROPEAN REACH WITH KEYRUS PARTNERSHIP
Leading French Business Intelligence and e-Business specialist becomes reseller for Netezza data warehouse appliances
Paris—December 6, 2005—Netezza today announced that through a new partnership with Keyrus, France the company has further extended its reach into Europe. The data warehouse appliance manufacturer selected Keyrus because of its proven track record with Business Intelligence (BI) and e-Business solution integration. Netezza’s expansion in France follows recent pan-European customer wins including The Carphone Warehouse and Center Parcs.
Eric Cohen, President of Keyrus explained, “We have a strong presence in the telco and retail sectors where our customers deal with very large volumes of data. Consequently, they are very well-suited to data warehouse appliances that are capable of analysing terabytes of detailed data at very high speed. The Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) system is a real breakthrough in the BI and data warehousing industries, so we wanted to be the first company in France able to supply an appliance-based solution.”
Joe Napoli, Regional Sales Director for Netezza Southern Europe added, “Successful organisations depend on comprehensive, fast and cost-effective data analysis to make sound decisions and drive their business processes. The expertise of Keyrus combined with the price/performance of the NPS system creates a highly attractive proposition for French organisations looking to capitalise on this technology.”
The NPS system works hand in hand with BI applications and tools, without requiring any modifications. Most leading BI applications run seamlessly with the NPS system and Netezza has partnered with market leaders in that space, including Business Objects, MicroStrategy, SAS, SPSS and others.
The Netezza Performance Server system is the market-leading data warehouse appliance, built specifically to analyze terabytes of detailed data 10 to 50 times faster than existing data warehouse options, at half the cost. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query. Netezza has placed the CPU power next to the data, allowing the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity across the organization. Customers who have recognized the performance benefits of Netezza’s approach include Ahold USA, Amazon.com, Cingular Wireless, CNET Networks, Epsilon, Orange UK, Premier, Inc., Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation, The Carphone Warehouse and The TJX Companies.
