ETICA PARTNERSHIP ESTABLISHES PRESENCE IN SPAIN FOR NETEZZA
Leading Spanish Business Intelligence (BI) specialist to resell Netezza data warehouse appliances
Madrid, 17 November, 2005—Through a new partnership with specialist BI and data warehousing reseller Etica, Netezza today announced its presence in Spain. The Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) data warehouse appliance, which architecturally integrates database, storage and server in a single system, is already in use across Europe by customers such as The Carphone Warehouse and Center Parcs. The two companies now plan to leverage Etica’s track record with large BI and data integration projects, as well as its expertise in data warehousing ETL solutions to the benefit of its impressive corporate customer portfolio.
Oscar Jacynycz, General Manager at Etica explained, “It’s an exciting time for us to introduce such an innovative data warehouse option into Spain. It complements our projects perfectly and fills a vital gap involving the speed at which organisations are able to analyse customer and operational data.”
The NPS system is the market-leading data warehouse appliance, built specifically to analyse terabytes of detailed data 10 to 50 times faster than existing data warehouse options, at half the cost. It stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analysing only the relevant information for each query. Netezza has placed the CPU power next to the data, allowing the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity across the organisation.
Joe Napoli, Regional Sales Director for Netezza Southern Europe added, “Etica is held in particularly high regard for its expertise in data warehousing solutions for major organisations in Spain such as Telefónica, BBVA, El Corte Inglés and Cortefiel. By adding our appliances to its portfolio of solutions, Etica is well placed to deliver a significant competitive advantage to its customers.”
The NPS system works hand in hand with BI applications and tools, without requiring any modifications. Most leading BI applications run seamlessly with the NPS system and Netezza has partnered with market leaders in that space.
The new partnership between Etica and Netezza will be formally marked with a launch event in Madrid on 18th November.
