NETEZZA EXPANDS ITS GLOBAL OPERATIONS INTO INDIA THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH KEYSOFT SOLUTIONS

Bangalore, 23rd September 2005—Netezza, the market-leading data warehouse appliance company, has launched its Indian operation by forming a partnership with data warehousing and business intelligence specialists KEYSOFT Solutions. Netezza’s expansion into India follows the opening of offices in Sydney, Australia and Tokyo, Japan earlier this year. Together Netezza and KEYSOFT will focus on the banking and finance, telecommunications and government sectors in the Indian market.

Netezza’s international expansion follows a record setting year in which the company realised substantial growth and momentum in the data warehousing industry. Netezza’s success has been underscored by a significant increase in market adoption of its Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) data warehouse appliance. Organisations using Netezza are doing so out of a need for greater business intelligence, so they can analyse buyer behaviour, track usage patterns, reduce customer churn, track fraud, analyse click streams and provide intelligence for cross-selling and up-selling.

Since introducing the NPS data warehouse appliance to the market in 2003, Netezza has shipped over 70 systems worldwide. Earlier this year, the Company announced the NPS 10000 Series, which scales to accommodate 100 terabytes of data. Netezza views India as an important market:

“Since opening our Asian operation early this year, our planned next step was to offer our breakthrough products in the Indian market,” says Vinay Samuel, sales director of Netezza in the region. “KEYSOFT has developed an excellent reputation with its customers and its partners in the business intelligence segment and we look forward to working together to bring innovative and cost effective data warehousing solutions to Indian organisations.”

According to Sanjay Datta, GM Sales, KEYSOFT Solutions "The Netezza partnership is of high strategic value to us. We provide enterprise-class business intelligence solutions to our customers, and Netezza will enable us to also address their data warehouse needs. Moreover, apart from Netezza there are few choices with a competitive price performance ratio in the terabyte-plus data warehouse space. This implies a large potential for the Netezza data warehouse appliance in the Indian banking, insurance, finance and telecommunications segments.”

The Netezza Performance Server system is the market-leading data warehouse appliance, built specifically to analyse terabytes of detailed data 10 to 50 times faster than existing data warehouse options, at half the cost. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analysing only the relevant information for each query. Netezza has placed the CPU power next to the data, allowing the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity across the organization. Customers who have recognised the performance benefits of Netezza’s approach include Ahold USA, Amazon.com, Catalina Marketing, Cingular Wireless, CNET Networks, Epsilon, Neiman Marcus, Orange UK, Premier, Inc., Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation and The TJX Companies.
