Sydney, 16 August 2005—Netezza has implemented a multi-terabyte data warehouse appliance within its Sydney data centre to offer Australian enterprises and government agencies a unique proof of concept opportunity. The Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) system is a data warehouse appliance used for analysing terabytes of data 10-50 times faster and at half the cost of existing data warehouse options from IBM, Oracle and Teradata.

“The Netezza system took less than three days to implement whereas competitive products take weeks to months to be ready for multi-terabyte data queries,” said Vinay Samuel, sales director Asia Pacific for Netezza. “Our proof of concept centre now offers organisations the opportunity to see how quickly the NPS system can really analyse terabytes of detailed data.”

The NPS system integrates a relational database, server and storage into a single appliance.
