NETEZZA NAMED DM REVIEW 100 AWARD WINNER

Framingham, Mass.—November 1, 2004—Netezza Corporation today announced that it has been named a 2004 DM Review 100 Award winner, highlighting the company’s continued momentum and success in the data warehousing industry.

DM Review 100 Award recipients were selected based on the results of a product usage and vendor rating survey of the magazine’s readers. Survey respondents were asked to rank the vendors providing products used in their organizations. Readers were presented with more than 225 vendors in several product categories: servers; storage; data quality; data integration; databases; BI (query, reporting and data mining); unstructured data, content management and knowledge management; data administration, management and performance; and business performance management. Final scores were tabulated based on three equally weighted metrics: product quality, market share and customer satisfaction.

“We are pleased to be acknowledged by DM Review’s readers who recognize the Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) system’s role in simplifying complex data centers,” said Jit Saxena, co-founder and CEO, Netezza Corporation. “The NPS® system delivers unprecedented value to data-intensive companies: data analysis that produces actionable results in just minutes or seconds, a drastically lower total cost of ownership than traditional data warehousing systems and an appliance package that is easy to deploy, maintain and use.”

“In today’s data-intensive environments, it is vital for corporations to process the ever-growing flow of information more quickly and affordably,” said Brian Cronin, publisher, DM Review. “Netezza is a welcome addition to our magazine’s Top 100 and to the business intelligence community.”

The NPS® system is an enterprise-class data warehouse appliance built specifically to analyze terabytes of detailed data – 10 – 50 times faster than anything on the market, at half the cost. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query. Netezza has placed the CPU power next to the data, allowing the NPS system to speed through analyses that would tie up most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity across the enterprise. Customers who have recognized the performance benefits of Netezza’s approach include AT&T Wireless, CNET Networks, Epsilon, Orange UK, Premier, Inc., Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation and The TJX Companies.
