NETEZZA WINS INVESTORS' CHOICE HONORS AT TECHNOLOGIC PARTNERS' DATACENTER VENTURES CONFERENCE

Netezza Selected as One of 10 Private Companies "Most Likely to Succeed"

Framingham, Mass.-October 2, 2002-Netezza Corporation today announced it has earned Investors' Choice honors at the Datacenter Ventures Conference held by Technologic Partners. Netezza was the only New England company of the 10 winners, that were selected from more than 70 privately funded companies in attendance at the conference.

"For years, companies have been using an inefficient patchwork of general purpose technology to analyze massive amounts of data," said Jit Saxena, co-founder and CEO of Netezza. "Our system reduces the time it takes to run complex queries from days to minutes, allowing companies to make decisions at the speed of thought. Receiving this honor from Technologic Partners is a testament to the impact that our technology will have on how business decisions are made."

Netezza was chosen as one of the companies "Most Likely to Succeed" after a presentation to the crowd of more than 400 entrepreneurs, investors and industry executives at the conference. After the presentations, the audience rated each company's likelihood for success. A panel of technology investors and market watchers also helped to select the winners.

Netezza has created the world's first purpose-built, tera-scale data appliance for business intelligence that shatters traditional price/performance benchmarks. The Company is led by a seasoned group of executives from some of the world's top computing companies, including Cisco, Compaq, Sun and Teradata. To date, venture capital heavyweights Matrix Partners, Charles River Ventures and Battery Ventures have invested nearly $30 million in the Company.

Datacenter Ventures takes the place of Technologic's long-running Internet Outlook conference. The data center has become a strategic asset in today's enterprise with new startup opportunities in security, reliability, cost control and business planning. Datacenter Ventures spotlights emerging companies in data security, information storage, secure communications and management systems as well as in new server, interconnect and query designs for massive databases. It is produced annually by Technologic Partners and VentureWire and held in the Bay Area.
