have been awarded the Ernst & Young 17th Annual New England
Entrepreneur Of The Year awards, which honors outstanding leaders of
entrepreneurial companies.

Chosen among 64 finalists from 55 companies by an
independent panel of judges, these regional award recipients will
now compete with winners in all other regions nationwide for awards
at the National Entrepreneur Of The Year Conference in Palm Springs,
Calif. this November.

Joanna Lau of LAU Technologies Inc., Leon Gorman of L.L. Bean Inc.,
Patricia Gallup of PC Connection, Ray Sozzi of Student Advantage
LLC, George Hatsopoulos of Thermo Electron Corporation, Fran
Sussner-Rodgers of Work/Family Directions Inc. and Michael Kittredge
of Yankee Candle Co., Inc. among others. udges from the business
and financial communities selected this year's group of finalists,
which included leaders from the fields of arts and entertainment,
consumer and business services, defense and security, financial
services, hospitality, real estate/construction, information
technology, life sciences, networking and communications, and retail
and consumer products.
The award program was begun by Ernst
& Young in 1986 to recognize entrepreneurs who had created and
sustained successful, growing business ventures. Since then, the
program has grown throughout the world, expanding to more than 150
cities in over 35 locations. |
