Principal Software Engineer/GUI


Design, Development, and Maintenance of Netezza Administrative ToolsThe Netezza Admin tools are used to manage all aspects of our data warehouse appliance from creating users, managing permissions, and defining database schema to monitoring and maintaining the physical health of the appliance.

Background required

Required:

• Previous experience building graphical user interface applications preferably for managing complex systems.
• Significant experience with Web related technologies (SOAP, WEBEM, PHP, XML, etc)
• Significant experience with Java development
• Experience coding in C++ in a Windows environment, and a thorough grounding in structured design principals
• Demonstrated teamwork and flexibility in previous work assignments (previous experience in a startup or post-startup or small company environment is highly desired)
• Experience working closely with Documentation, QA, and Technical Support

Highly Desired:

• Experience in developing tools for the management of large integrated systems, such as CLI tools for operating systems or layered software management or experience with writing admin tools for Linux, such as Top for example, or database management tools such as I-SPY

Experience/Education Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and minimum of 6 years of programming experience required.
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field and minimum of 5 years of programming experience desired.
