Senior Hardware Test Engineer
Responsibilities:
This individual will play a critical role in the development
and lifecycle of Netezzas product offerings.
- Develop and execute detailed hardware electrical tests
from component level on up to system level testing. Ensure
conformance to internal design functional specifications
as well as component and ANSI/IEEE standards.
- Perform electrical product evaluations and reliability
studies using accelerated testing techniques on components,
circuit boards, sub-assemblies and 3rd party products.
- Perform detailed failure analysis which will include problem
tracking / recording, root cause / failure analysis and
recommending corrective actions.
- Perform continuous quality improvement activities including
analyzing trends and providing process improvement recommendations.
- Work with a cross functional team (software, hardware,
manufacturing and customer support) to create test processes,
test specifications, test cases for integration, regression,
alpha, beta and production testing.
- Assemble and compile hardware test plans per input from
internal inter-disciplinary teams.
- Setup and maintain HW test platform configurations for
testing. Demonstrate technical leadership and provide consultation
/ guidance on complex projects and issues.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work
both independently and as part of a team and thrive on technical
challenges.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, in a fast paced
environment while working as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- This position requires 5-10 years of experience in Hardware
Test Engineering.
- BSEE or BSEET degree.
- Ideal candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting
skills, as well as excellent written, documentation and
verbal communication skills.
- Extensive experience in writing and execution of test
plans for the verification and validation of designs of
electronic and electromechanical assemblies and systems.
- An understanding of system level testing, build management
including source control, defect tracking from product conception
to release to manufacturing.
- Experience in environmental testing of products (temperature,
vibration, voltage margining, frequency margining).
- Experience determining operational and performance limitations
of products.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analyzers,
and data acquisition tools.
- Experienced in high volume manufacture environments a
plus.
- Experience testing on Linux based platforms.
- Experience identifying and developing automated test suites.
- Knowledge of test automation tools used by HW test engineers
such as Labview and Visual basic.
- Ability to travel approximately 5-10% annually.
